Summary: Willow/Tara... impending doom...

It had been a miracle. That's the only explanation she could think of. Ever since she was a child Tara had dreamed of having a family of her own. When Tara came to realize she wasn't attracted to men she had assumed she would have to give up on her dream of having children. At first it had bothered her but then she met Willow and the disappointment was pushed to the back of her mind. The quirky red head had shown her how to love; that others were capable of loving her. Her life with the woman she loved was perfect and now it was about to get even better. A small smile graced her lips as she looked out their apartment window. Across the way she could see the small playground in the park and could hear the children screaming and laughing as they played with each other. She instinctively rubbed her nearly nine month pregnant belly as she watched the children in the playground. She was so wrapped up in her own thoughts she didn't notice the door opening and closing behind her.

"Hey." A soft voice tickled her ear as a strong pair of arms wrapped around her swollen belly.

"Hey back." She said as she leaned back into the loving embrace. Content in the arms of her lover she returned her attention to the playing children and her thoughts. She and Willow had talked about having children when the time was right. They had decided against adoption wanting their first child to come from one of them. They had also decided to wait until they both felt ready for a child. And then it happened. Tara had been cranky and sick and Willow had practically dragged her to the doctor who told her she was pregnant. At first neither believed it they had both wanted to wait a little longer and Willow trusted Tara enough to know she would never be unfaithful. But as time went on and the symptoms grew more obvious they accepted it as a miracle. Both women were familiar with magic and decided it was a gift and they would do the best they could to take care of their child.

"How are you feeling this morning?" Willow asked kissing along Tara's neck eliciting a moan from the blond.

"Perfect." Tara practically purred her response.

"Someone's horny." Willow chuckled as she turned Tara in her arms so the blond was facing her. For some reason the blond had been very horny through out her pregnancy it had gotten so bad that in order to get a good nights sleep Willow had started sleeping in the guest room. That and the nightmares Tara had been experiencing over the past two months. Always the same she's in a cemetery. It's dark and cold and she can barely see the ground due to the thick fog. Some one's crying and she tries to find them and help them but the fog just gets thicker. Finally she steps into an opening and the fog clears there's two headstones set next to each other. Engraved in the smooth marble surfaces were two names: Willow Danielle Rosenberg and Tara Alexis Maclay.

Willow woke to Tara screaming in the adjacent room. Jumping out of bed she tripped over something in the dark before pulling herself up and running the rest of the way into the master bedroom. Racing to the bed she spooned the terrified blond trying to sooth her in her sleep.

"Shh, baby, it's okay. Everything's alright." She whispered in Tara's ear. Tara let out an ear piercing scream and tore herself out of Willow's embrace.

"Tara, baby; wake up. Come on, wake up." Willow tried to wake her lover, gently shaking the trembling woman's shoulder. Tara again let out a screech and jerked away from Willow's touch.

"TARA, WAKE UP!" Willow finally shouted succeeding in startling the blond out of her tormenting sleep.

"Willow?" The blond asked as she moved back into Willow's arms. Wrapping Willow in her arms and burying her face in Willow's shoulder she began to sob.

"Tara? Tara, baby, what's wrong?" Willow asked a little shaken. Tara had never reacted so badly to her nightmares before.

"The nightmare... it was different, it...changed." Tara said holding Willow to her tightly.

"Tell me." Willow whispered softly, rubbing her back soothingly.

"It started out the same but when I got to the graves there was some one there. At first all I could see was a red cloak, but then I saw...it. Oh, Willow it was horrible. This creature, this...monster had our baby. I think...I think it's what kills us." Tara said tightening her grip on her lover pulling them closer together.

"It's alright, baby, it's going to be okay. I promise." Willow said rocking Tara slowly trying to calm the upset blond.

About a week later all worries about the nightmare had been forgotten and the lovers had planned a special evening for themselves. The beach was quiet as they sat curled up together on their picnic blanket and watched the sun set.

"Willow?" Tara asked her brow creasing slightly.

"Yes, love?" Willow replied sensing her lover tense.

"I...I think my water broke."
