Author: Crimson Vampire Goddess Tara tried to concentrate on her breathing but the pain was almost too much to take as Willow rushed her to the hospital. "AAHH!" Tara cried out as she lurched forward. "The contractions are getting closer together, Will, DRIVE FASTER!" She ground out though clenched teeth. "I'm going as fast as I can, Tare, focus on your breathing." Willow tried to focus on both Tara and her driving as she sped towards the hospital. Pulling into the ambulance bay, Willow practically leapt out of the car and ran to help Tara out of the back seat. Willow half carried Tara into the emergency room and to a chair before running to find a nurse. A few seconds later Willow and a Brunette woman in scrubs came running back with a wheelchair. "Hi, Tara, I'm Dr. Cameron. Let's get you up to the maternity ward." The brunette said as she began running towards the elevators pushing the wheelchair in front of her. "Okay, Tara, I'm going to need some information before we get you into a room so I'll have Willow fill out some paperwork while I get a room set up for you, is that alright." Dr. Cameron asked. "Yeah, that's fine." Tara said relaxing a bit. "Okay, I'll come and get you in a few minutes." Dr. Cameron said with a smile before walking away. A few seconds later a blond woman in colorful scrubs came over to give Willow the paper work which she completed in two minutes and handed it back before switching her attention back to Tara. The blonde's eyes were closed and Willow could tell she was trying to block out the pain. Willow gently took Tara's hand in hers and leaned over to kiss her forehead. "The room is ready if you'll please come this way." A blond nurse said politely before leading them down the hall and into a small room. "They'll prep you in here, make sure everything's in order and then they'll take you to the delivery room." She explained before pausing to look at Willow. Tara watched the look on the nurses face turn from a polite smile to a lustful stare. "Are you a relative?" She asked finally. "She's my lover." Tara said calmly, locking eyes with the nurse momentarily. "Oh, okay. Well some one will be down in a minute to help prep. Bye." With that thee nurse was gone. A few minutes later Dr. Cameron came in with a hospital gown and another nurse. After helping Tara into the gown and back into the chair they rolled her down the hall to the delivery room. "Oh, I'm sorry ma'am only immediate family is allowed in the delivery room." A nurse said grabbing Willow's arm preventing her from following. Willow opened her mouth to argue but was cut off. "It's her baby too and I won't have it without her there!" Tara said firmly pulling the wheelchair out of Dr. Cameron's hands and turning it around to face the nurse. "I'm sorry ma'am, but she's not immediate family legally or by blood. She's gonna have to wait out here." The nurse said sympathetically. "The hell she will." Tara said rolling over to them and tearing Willow's arm out of the nurse's grip. Holding Willow's hand tightly she turned and rolled back over to Dr. Cameron. "But, ma'am..." The nurse called after her. "Just let her go, Greta." Dr. Cameron said moving to follow Tara down the hall to the Delivery room. Once in the delivery room Tara was lifted from the wheelchair and onto the bed. The nurses were helping place her legs in the stirrups as another contraction hit and she kicked the nurse accidentally. Willow stood by the door way until Dr. Cameron came to talk to her. "Well, while they stay with her you and I are going to get ready. Here are some scrubs you can just put them on over your clothes. I'll be back in a minute." Dr. Cameron said handing Willow some pale blue scrubs. After putting on the scrubs Willow nervously stood in the doorway watching the nurses hook up machines and ask Tara questions. "AAHHH! WILLOW!" Tara yelled in pain as she had yet another contraction. Willow was at her side in an instant. "Hey, you're doing great, love." Willow encouraged taking Tara's hand in hers and running her free hand through tangled sweat soaked tresses. Dr. Cameron walked in and asked the nurse a few questions before walking over to Willow and Tara. "Tara, I'm going to check and see how far along you are and we'll go from there, okay?" Dr. Cameron said before moving to sit on a small stool between Tara's legs. It had been over an hour and Tara was exhausted. Willow stood by her side whispering words of love and encouragement in her ear. "Just a few more pushes, Tara, and it'll be over." Dr. Cameron said trying to remain positive. "I can't." The blonde sobbed pulling Willow to her and burying her face in the red head's shoulder as Willow bent to hug her. "Yes, you can, love. You can do anything remember? You're strong...like an amazon. My amazon." Willow whispered trying to sooth her. "Willow, I'm gonna need you to help her..." Dr. Cameron told her to sit behind Tara and help her push. Willow moved so she was spooning Tara from behind and took hold of both of Tara's hands. "Okay, now push." Dr. Cameron instructed. "I see the head! Okay, Tara, one big push." After the push the room filled with baby cries. "Just three more pushes, Tara, you can do it." "One, two, three, push." "One, two, three, push." "One, two, three, push." "AAHHH!" Tara cried her cry mixing with that of her child. Collapsing back into Willow, she cried tears of relief, joy, and love. "You did great! I'm so proud of you!" Willow whispered in her ear. "Okay, mommies, here's your new son!" Dr. Cameron said as she placed the sleeping child in Tara's arms. |
