As some of you may have guessed from the comic cover up there (the final issue of Sensational She-Hulk, of course, in which she's making good her threat from the cover to issue #1 to rip up your X-Men issues if you don't buy her comic), Heroine Addict is going the way of Shulkie, Ms. Marvel (soon), Hawkgirl (being cancelled, that is, not being knocked off in DC Zombies), Jenna Jameson's Shadow Hunter, and so on. I'm not intending to stop reading comics, but I've slowly drifted away from comic forums, and without a venue to 'advertise' this site its readership will never really grow - and even if it did, I'm not hoping to one day become a professional comic reviewer, so really I could be doing better things with my spare time (which recently has become quite a bit more limited than it used to be). Thanks to everyone who's stopped by to have a read of the reviews, and especially to the creators who've shared their thoughts and (on happy occasions) previews of their work - among them A First Salvo Comics (creators of Contract, Approbation Comics (Chaos Campus: Sorority Girls vs Zombies and others), Great Big Comics (The Voyages of SheBuccaneer), and Red 5 Comics (Atomic Robo and others). And sorry if I forgot anyone else. It's been a fun time, and I wish you all success (and for the rest of you, you ought to buy all of those, and I'm not just saying that because I didn't have to (since I did anyway, so there)).

But as they say in Chicago - the musical, not the city - before I go, here's a few more partin' shots:

For residents of the United States, the Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose PVC statue from Diamond Select is available to order on Diamond's website: direct link here. For the rest of us, the very stunning statue is solicited in this month's Previews (issue #256, for January 2010), so get your order in at your local comic shop.

There's a new website up for Contract - here is it, including issues, short comics (and just get a look at the pages so far for 'Fun in the Sun', yowza), and other fun stuff.

If (for heaven knows what reason) you still want to read stuff I write, I'll still be reviewing action figures over at Online Action Figure Entertainment (I'm 'Artemis' over there, and as you'd expect, I'm mainly reviewing female figures - there'll be a review of that Tarot statue once it ships (May 2010, I believe).

Well, that about wraps it up - I'll leave this online a couple of months, to give any irregular readers time to see it, then take the whole thing down in due course. If you want to know what I've learned from the last couple of years of reviewing comics, I guess it'd be that it's always worth grabbing an issue of something that catches your attention, for whatever reason, especially if it's on the indie shelves at the comic shop - with Marvel and DC you know what you're gonna get, pretty much (though anything by Matt Fraction and Gail Simone at those publishers respectively should be worth your time), but smaller publishers are more open to new ideas, and consequently can surprise you and engage with you the way the big guys never really will. Don't take comics too seriously, but at the same time don't dismiss them as cheap fun - you can have a laugh and get something meaningful out of a story at the same time. Thanks for reading, everyone.
