CHARACTER BIOS

Willow Rosenburg
Age: 21
Hair: Red
Eyes: Green
Occupation: violinmaker
Birthplace: Poland
Residence (in Green River): the Bronze Stake Room 10
Born in Poland, Willow and her parents escaped oppression and moved to New York City. Her parents gave her a ticket to the west, hoping she would finally get some sense into her head and into the real world away from her books. She taught herself how to shoot and is quite good. When she's nervous she babbles and quotes her books to sometimes express her emotion. She arrives in Green River new in the ways of the world, ready for whatever comes her way... She thinks.

Tara Maclay
Age: 20
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Occupation: Baker
Birthplace: Trenton, New Jersey
Residence (in Green River): the Bronze Stake Room 12
Tara, when she turned 20, left her family and went west, opening a bakery in Green River becoming famous for her cinnamon buns. She stutters when she's nervous and is really shy until you get to know her. She loves to sing and dreams of becoming a singer, though her stage fright overwhelms her dream. She can be seen talking with Dawn and Andrew when she's at home, but she seems to be attracted to the greenhorn in town, the violinmaker from New York City.

Alexander or Xander Harris
Age: 22
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Occupation: Bum who sold pencils on the corner; then becomes a cowboy
Birthplace: New York City
Residence: the Bronze Stake Room 16
Xander's family kicked him out when he was 14, so he began living on the streets. By the time he and his best friend Willow were in their 20's, he was selling pencils on the street corner. When she left for the west, Xander followed her, ending up catching a riverboat to Mississippi. Riley takes him with him on a cattle drive to Green River, where Xander learned the ropes (no pun intended) of being a cowboy. He took up residence in the Bronze Stake and can be seen with Willow in her shop. He has a habit of getting into trouble, but is always there for a helping hand and a listening ear. He falls in love with Anya, who's a singer at Bloody Rose.

Anya Jenkins
Age: 30
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Brown
Occupation: Singer
Birthplace: New York City
Residence: the Bronze Stake Room 15
A loudmouth singer, Anya always gets to the point and states what's on her mind rather bluntly at the most inappropriate times. She may sing at William's saloon, but she only does it because she likes money. She meets Xander and falls in love with him. She also has a fondness for sugar cookies, so Tara always bakes an extra batch for her.

Elizabeth or Buffy Summers
Age: 23
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Hazel
Occupation: Marshall
Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois
Residence: the Bronze Stake employee quarters
Buffy is Joyce's daughter and Dawn's older sister. With a feisty attitude and a big heart, Buffy keeps order in Green River, settling everything from drunken brawls to run-ins with William's gang and the townsfolk. She rarely is seen showing emotion; and only does so when truly moved. She lives in the employee quarters; her old room now a boarder's room. Buffy is linked with her sometimes deputy and cowboy Riley Finn, and the two have been seen kissing. She forms a bond with Willow, and eventually becomes her best friend.

Joyce Summers
Age: Late 40s
Hair: Blondish-Brown
Eyes: Hazel
Occupation: Matron of the Bronze Stake saloon/restaurant and boarding house
Birthplace: Delavan, Wisconsin
Residence: the Bronze Stake (she and Dawn have rooms on the second story, which are not given to boarders)
Joyce moved her two daughters and herself to Green River after her husband left her, opening a successful establishment. Though very motherly, she is firm and demands respect. She clashes on a frequent basis with William as he tries to buy her property. She owns the Bronze Stake, Watchers General store, Tara's bakery and what becomes Willow's violin shop. She worries often about the safety of her daughters and her boarders, who are like her family, as Willow discovers.

Dawn Summers
Age: 18
Hair: Light Brown
Eyes: Brown
Occupation: Works in Giles' general store
Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois
Residence: Room in the second story of the Bronze Stake (see note on Joyce's place of residence)
Dawn is Buffy's little sister and Joyce's youngest daughter. She is rebellious in some respects, like when she doesn't listen to her mother or sister. She works in Giles' general store and her friends include Andrew and Tara.

Rupert Giles
Age: 50 (?)
Hair: Graying Brown
Eyes: Green
Occupation: Storekeeper
Birthplace: London, England
Residence: Above his store
Giles runs Watchers General Store, where Dawn works and where the people of Green River come to buy goods needed for daily life. A bit bumbling but very kind, he cleans his glasses as a nervous habit. He always eats dinner at the Bronze Stake, ordering a Rueben sandwich with home fries and a glass of sherry.

Riley Finn
Age: 25
Hair: Sandy Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Occupation: Cowboy; Buffy's deputy when he's in town
Birthplace: Des Moines, Iowa
Residence (when he's in Green River): Buffy's room in the employee quarters of the Bronze Stake
Riley is a cowboy who brings in supplies and mail orders. He likes cherry turnovers, and he and Tara have worked out an arrangement concerning them. Goofy but can be quite serious, especially when it comes to his friends. He is linked with Buffy, considering he lives in her room when he's in town and is also her deputy whenever he's in Green River.

Andrew Wells
Age: 19
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Brown
Occupation: Waiter/bouncer at the Bronze Stake
Birthplace: Raynham, Massachusetts
Residence: The Bronze Stake employee quarters
Andrew is a young man who works as a waiter/bouncer at the Bronze Stake. He is quirky but charming in his own way and is friends with Dawn and Tara. Helpful in certain situations, he does get frustrated easily when he's been working all day. He falls for the mysterious stranger Nat.

Nathan or Nat
Age: 20 or so
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Gray
Occupation: Banjo player
Birthplace: ???
Residence: the Bronze Stake room 17
Not much is known about the mysterious young man who comes into town on the brink of dying of thirst, except that he can play the banjo. Buffy finds him outside the train station and takes him to the Bronze Stake, where, after he regains his strength, he works off his room by playing banjo every night. Andrew falls hard for him and it is through his efforts, along with those of Willow, Tara and Dawn that Nat is revealed to be a kind and caring young man with a witty sense of humor.

William Marlow
Age: 30
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Occupation: Owner of Bloody Rose; landlord of the entire town except for Joyce's property
Birthplace: London, England
Residence: Ranch outside of town
On the outward appearance, a respectable member of society, William is in reality leader of a dirty gang of outlaws. He uses his thugs to collect the outrageously high rent from his renters, and does dirty deals behind people's backs. He clashes constantly with Buffy and Joyce about her property and other things. When Willow comes to town, he is on the brink on declaring an all-out land war.

William's gang:

Adam: a fierce and quiet man who won't hesitate to use any method to please his boss.
Warren: the nerdy one of the group who does most of the brain work.
Jonathon: not as smart as he looks.
Forrest: half of the muscle pair.
Graham: the other half of the muscle pair.
Tucker: he's just there.
