CHAPTER NINE: BACK TO REALITY

Author: Crimson Vampire Goddess
Rating: R
Disclaimer: Okay, so I borrowed most of the characters and the plot. But the new settings came from my own mind! *indignantly*

Willow woke in her hospital bed disoriented and still feeling the effects of the fog...or maybe it was the medication they were sure to have been giving her. Groaning, she tried to sit up but laid right back down when pain shot through her stomach. Looking down she saw a crimson circle forming on the lower left side of her abdomen. Gritting her teeth she pulled herself into a sitting position. She sat a moment as the pain dissipated but it was closely followed by a light headedness and nausea. Moving carefully, she got out of bed and slowly made her way to the door. Peaking out she saw that the nurse on duty was making her rounds and luckily had just past her room. Sneaking across the hall she carefully sat at the nurse's station in front of the computer. Some quick hacking and she found her information. Something in her contact information caught her eye next to the name Tara Maclay was the word hospitalized. 'What?' She looked up Maclay and discovered that Tara had been admitted to the psych ward. 'Huh?'

"I'm coming, Tara." Willow whispered before slowly standing up. 'The psych ward is in the basement right? Yeah, right next to the...morgue. Great.' Willow thought to herself as she made her way to the elevators. 'I hate how I know this place so well; so many unpleasant memories.'

Tara had woken up a while ago and since waking up all she could do was stare at the ceiling replaying the scene of that...man kissing and caressing Willow. She didn't notice the tears rolling down her cheek or that someone was watching her she just couldn't get over the fact that, even for a moment, Willow took pleasure in his touch; for a moment Willow was happy with someone else.

"Tara..." The voice was gentle; caressing her senses like velvet gloved hand. She knew who it was but couldn't bring herself to face her.

"Tara, are you okay?"

"How could you?" Tara asked quietly.

"How could I what?" Willow asked confused.

"How could you let him touch you like that!?" Tara exploded

"How could you Willow? I've been lying here scared to death that I might lose you and you've been in some dream world doing god knows what with a someone else!" Tara yelled on the verge of hysterics.

"I...I didn't know who I was or where I was. He...he was the only one there. He told me things...I...I'm sorry. Baby, I'm so sorry." Willow said walking up to her wife.

"Untie me." Tara said quietly. Willow did as she was asked and then helped Tara off the bed. They stood facing each other in silence for a moment before: SMACK! Tara slapped Willow hard across the face.

"That was for letting him touch you..." And just as suddenly as she'd slapped her, Tara pulled Willow into a searing kiss.

"...and that's to remind you that you're mine and I love you."

"I love you too, Tara." Willow said before looking around curiously.

"Umm...honey? What are you doing in the psych ward?" Willow asked.

"Long story." Tara replied. Looking at Willow a look of horror and realization appeared on Tara's face.

"You were stabbed!" Tara said shakily.

"Yeah." Willow said trying to ignore the pain radiating from the wound.

"Y-You w-were stabbed and y-you're walking around? You sh-should be in b-bed!" Tara said her stutter reappearing. Looking down Tara gasped at the sight of Willow's hospital gown soaked in blood.

"Oh my god, Willow..."

"We n-need to call a d-doctor." Tara said running to the door.
